Genesis Gem 3: Water

I thirst for God, the Living God. Ps 42:2“And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:9-10

Water makes up about two thirds of our body weight and every system in our body depends on water.  Even mild dehydration (lack of water) will drain our energy and affects the body’s ability to carry out normal functions.  An essential element for survival, we can only last a few days without it. Genesis Gem 2: Oxygen

Isaiah 42:5And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.”  So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.  God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning— the second day.   Genesis 1:6-8

The second provision God made for mankind (and all the earth) was the air we breathe.

When we think of the sky, we think of oxygen.  So important is oxygen, we can only live minutes without it, and it is needed by every cell of our bodies.   Continue reading

Genesis Gem 1: Sunshine

Light of the World

To build the proper foundation on which to build our health, we need the right information.  Genesis provides a blueprint of exactly what the body needs.  Almost every provision man would ever need was made during the 6 days of creation, including the need for rest on the 7th day.  With the fall of man came new challenges as our perfect foundation was cracked.  In the next few posts, we will observe God’s perfect provision for man.

Let there be light. Continue reading

Part Two: A Solid Foundation- Introduction

Foundation on the ROCK“You, LORD,are above all others…you are the foundation on which we stand today.”  Isaiah 33:5-7

Foundation Principle:  A body built according to the principles of God can withstand the “storms” (diseases) of life.  The stronger the foundation work, the stronger the house (body).

The purpose of a foundation is to support the structure.   Continue reading

Principle 7: Give and it shall be given to you…

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38

The successful road to recovery leads to sharing: sharing what we have learned, what we are learning, where we’ve been, and where we are now.   Shared struggles become easier, shared victories become sweeter.  Both offer support as well as accountability.  Continue reading

Principle 6: Science will prove the Bible, because the Bible is accurate and relative.

The Bible does not call itself a book of Science…

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  John 1:1.

God created “science”, and through science we will see God; through science we will see God’s laws at work in perfect harmony.

Principle 5: Principles for healthy living can be found in the Bible.

”My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.”  Proverbs 4:20

I have owned and operated health food stores, been involved with networking companies who sell supplements, have attended countless seminars, and have spent thousands of dollars learning “alternative” methods to building better health.  For a while, it seemed the more I learned, the more confused I got.  Continue reading
